The state of Bihar has been devastated by the flooding of Kosi river and this has been declared as a national calamity. Thousands have been displaced from their homes and lands, have lost all their property and hundreds have lost their lives. People who were already under the poverty line have been robbed off whatever little they had. Administration is facing some tough times trying to rescue all the people with inhospitable conditions and people being stranded in remote, unreachable areas.
